Orillia to Port Carling
We will start on the shores of Lake Couchiching in Orillia and will soon be passing through the pastoral farmland to the north of the city, before heading into cottage country. Our route takes us over a swing bridge, hugs the shores of Sparrow Lake, and winds and rolls through the first glimpses of the Canadian Shield. Sites include the Torrance Barrens Dark Sky Preserve and the village of Bala.

Port Carling to Gravenhurst
Today's ride has spectacular scenery and lots of ups and downs to challenge the legs. We make our way along the north side of Lake Muskoka for most of the day, and will take advantage of some high points to stop for fabulous views of the lake. The route passes through Bracebridge and then continues south into Gravenhurst, which is known as the gateway to Muskoka. We will explore Gravenhurst’s Muskoka Wharf and enjoy a boat cruise to end the day.

Lake Rosseau Loop
Today’s ride is hilly with several short steep climbs and one long, gentle slope of approximately 4 kilometres. The day begins winding north with Lake Joseph to the west and Lake Rosseau to the east. We pass through Port Sandfield and Minett before looping around the top of the lake through Rosseau and past the Rosseau River and Bent River. We end the day in Port Carling, and will have time to explore this town known as the “hub of the lakes” before transferring back to Orillia by van.
