Humdinger is central Ontario’s premier purveyor of fully supported and guided bicycle tours, and the first to offer these services in Ontario’s cottage country. Humdinger provides extraordinary cycling tours that challenge body and mind, and, more importantly, are just plain fun. Our signature tour is geared at intermediate to advanced cyclists, and is a 6 day/5 night , 400 km exploration of Georgian Bay and Muskoka. We offer two 3 day/2 night tours, one in Muskoka and a Pedal, Pints and Pubs tour geared at novice to intermediate cyclists in Haliburton. We offer supported day tours in Simcoe-Muskoka-Parry Sound that allow you to ride point-to-point hassle- and worry-free, and finish with a hearty lunch and a cold brew. We would also be delighted to customize a tour for your group. As well, we are always developing new tours, so join our newsletter list to hear about these are they are launched.
In small guided groups, you will cycle alongside waterways, forests, and rugged Canadian Shield. Rolling hills and the occasional challenging climb keep things interesting for the experts, and mostly low traffic routes improve safety for everyone. Our fully supported bike routes are carefully crafted to balance quality riding with the well being of riders. Humdinger Bicycle Tours operates out of the “don’t blink or you’ll miss it” village of Rugby, in the township of Oro-Medonte, in the historic County of Simcoe. We are cycling enthusiasts who also value an exceptional holiday experience. Our outstanding guides provide on-route support, provide minor repairs and maintenance, transport your luggage, and convey their knowledge of the area’s rich history and local folklore. We believe that central Ontario’s cottage country offers some of the most exceptional, undiscovered cycling routes of anywhere in the world, and we want to share them with you.
Message from our Founder
Hello! Thank you for visiting the Humdinger Bicycle Tours website. I come to the bicycle touring industry via a winding route with many peaks and valleys. I trained and worked as a physiotherapist for many years before returning to school, completing a PhD, and becoming a research scientist. In my research life, I work to understand how thinking and moving interact to help or hinder each other, and how thinking and moving interact with motivation when we learn new skills or perfect existing ones. My research (some of which you can read here) also includes understanding how we set and, more importantly, attain personally-meaningful goals.
I am also an outdoor enthusiast and traveller, and whenever possible, I combine the two. My preferred holidays incorporate skiing, hiking, canoeing or other adventures with great food and learning about the area. Of course, it is tough to beat cycling! I have been fortunate to have had the opportunity to explore many beautiful places in the world. I am a life-long resident of Simcoe County, and have spent all of my summers on gorgeous Georgian Bay. Central Ontario is spectacular and has fantastic cycling routes that can be enjoyed by cyclists of all levels. Please join us for an extraordinary, Humdinger of a bike tour. Cheers! Sara
